History

The boys U-18 Middlepath FC Premier team formed in the 2005/2006 season with players from a number of clubs in the area. Many of the original players were from the League ODP program or the state ODP program. During the inaugural year the team achieved Regional ranking and reached the semi-finals of the Rider cup losing only to the eventual tournament champions.

The 2006/2007 team was a year of transition where 8 new members were added. The majority of the players competed on the Empire State Hudson Valley. During this season the team achieved National ranking, were undefeated in the Mid-Atlantic Premier Soccer (MAPS) league, reached the quarter finals of the State Cup, and were undefeated champions of the 2007 Rider Cup.

The 2007/2008 team remains largely unchanged with a few college bound graduates being replaced with new players. The team,  Nationally ranked in the top 75, competes year round in both league and tournament competitions.

Head Coach

Jay Myers is Assistant Coach for the Dominican College Division II men’s soccer team and simultaneously Assistant Coach for the Dominican College Division II women’s soccer team. Coach Myers comes to the Dominican College as the previous Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Bard College where in his second season led the Lady Raptors to 11-4-1 in the hardest conference that program had ever been involved in, as well as missing the programs first bid to the National Tournament by one match. In his first year as the Lady Raptors Head Coach they were league Semi-Finalist. Before Bard College he held the position as Interim Head Women's Soccer Coach at Marist College where he was also the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach for two years. He is a Staff Member of the NSCAA and instructs the NSCAA State, Regional, Advanced Regional Diplomas, he also currently holds his Premier, Advanced National, National and Advanced Goalkeeping I Diplomas. Coach Myers is a Staff Member of NY State ODP as well as the Empire State Games, Head Women’s Scholastic Soccer Coach for the Hudson Valley Region. He led the Hudson Valley to the Finals of the Empire State Games for the first time in a decade. The Hudson Valley received the Silver Medal in 2007 as well as the Bronze Medal in 2006, 2005 Coach Myers coaches at the club level as well, as the Head Coach of the Middle Path FC BU-10 BU18, BU-19/U23 Premier Teams. In the last four years these teams have been ranked in the top four in NY State. Formally the East Hudson Select BU15/16 Coach from 2003-2006. Coach Myers is a graduate of Marist College where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts. Assistant Coach

Devon Tomson in addition to finalizing his master’s degree in Physical Education, is Assistant Coach at Bard College for the Men’s Soccer Team. He is also the Assistant Coach for Red Hook HS’s Girls Varsity Team, heads the Raptor Soccer Camp, coaches U19 LaGrange United Team, assists with Eastern NY ODP, and has assisted, since 2006, the Hudson Valley Boys Scholastic Soccer Team for the Empire State Games.
